Love Letters – Heather Taylor

Heather and her husband Jeremy met at a training course at Stranmillis College in Belfast, when they were in the teaching profession.

Together they developed a love for the outdoors and would regularly walk their dogs along the Lagan Towpath in Belfast, close to where they lived.

Heather loved to hear Jeremy’s laugh when watching comedy on TV, hear him sing and play guitar. She loved when he delivered her coffee in bed every morning before he’d go to work.

But then Jeremy discovered he had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and their world changed forever.

Every month in Northern Ireland, 99 people are diagnosed with blood cancer.

Thanks to scientists based right here in Belfast, funded by Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI, three out of four people in Northern Ireland diagnosed with blood cancer survive.

But for that one in four, just like Jeremy, there’s still work to be done.

We are hopeful that with your help, our researchers will one day find a cure for blood cancer.

With your help we can fund research to help find a cure for blood cancer.
