I’mStill – Margaret McConnell

Three people are disgnosed with blood cancer in Northern Ireland every day – 67 year old Margaret McConnell from Newtownabbey is one of these.

She has been in remission for only one year after discovering she had Stage 4 Lymphoma in 2014.

Once her diagnosis was confirmed, Margaret was quietly positive. She underwent surgery and extensive chemotherapy lasting for over six months and even when she lost her hair she continued to see the bright side and declared that it was softer than when she was a baby.

In May 2015, Margaret was given the all-clear to the relief of everyone around her. Margaret relishes the everyday and values her family above all else. She is glad to be a wife, mother and granny.

After battling Stage 4 Lymphoma, Margaret is still looking good – and she’s still loving life.
