Clinical Fund
Our mission is to improve survival rates and quality of life for all blood cancer patients in NI, and this fund is focussed on contributing to larger scale projects that bring this fundamental research into a clinical setting, also known as ‘Bench to Bedside.’
This investment will help build on initial scientific discoveries to translate them into clinical trials and direct improvements in patient treatment & outcomes.
This fund is open to researchers in any academic institution in Northern Ireland or any clinical researcher within the HSC in Northern Ireland.
Preference will be given to PI’s involved in research already supported by an LLNI grant which contributed to learning being used in the proposal.
Up to £150k part funding contribution, as part of a larger budget for clinical proposals. LLNI are willing to be the first funder to commit to part funding a clinical proposal.
- Review and submit the Guidelines & Triage Application Form.
- One deadline per year – next deadline 6th November 2026.
- Triage assessed by Scientific & Medical Advisory Committee.
- Shortlisted proposals offered 4 weeks to submit full application.
- 2 external assessments: Peer Review & SMAC Meeting
- Application assesssed by Board of Trustees.
- Applicants advised of decision within 3 months of full proposal deadline.
