MyMatters Totaliser

In 2020 we are aiming to raise £100,000 to fund the MyMatters project on myeloma.

The MyMatters: Myeloma Metabolic Manipulation To Enhance Response project will study metabolic changes in drug resistant myeloma cell lines to identify potential new treatment strategies to block myeloma cell growth.

Treatment options for myeloma have improved over the past couple of decades, but despite treatment being initially successful, myeloma cells become resistant to existing therapies leading to disease relapse.

Myeloma cells can alter their metabolism, or the way they break down nutrients, in a number of ways to fuel their growth and to help them survive chemotherapy.

We will study metabolic changes in drug resistant myeloma cell liens to identify potential new treatment strategies to block myeloma cell growth and investigate whether targeting myeloma cell metabolism with specific drugs can improve how existing treatments work and overcome drug resistance.

We can only fund this new project with your help.
