“Research is the Key” Ken Reid joins the fight to beat blood cancer.

Much loved and respected UTV Political Editor Ken Reid joins forces as our new patron to help raise awareness about the impact of blood cancer and the need for life-changing research.

Speaking about the announcement, Ken commented:

“I was delighted to receive the invitation from Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI as it is a charity dedicated to supporting research into Leukaemia and other blood cancers such as Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma.  Research is the key to the future, as the recent attempts to deal with Covid-19 has proved.”

Ken was diagnosed in 2017 and is currently undertaking a clinical trial and knows first hand of the importance of research in treating such a serious condition.  Ken added:  “The research supported by Leukaemia and Lymphoma NI helps patients like me to know that whilst there is currently no cure it is possible to treat and enjoy a decent life.  In these troubled times it is reassuring to know there are people fighting our cause.”
